Highlights on the map
- East wing: Giotto to Botticelli (second floor): The visit starts at the top of the Grand Ducal Staircase and runs south along the east corridor: Giotto and Cimabue, then Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primavera and the Tribune.
- West wing: Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo; first floor: Back north along the west corridor: Leonardo's Annunciation, Raphael and Michelangelo's Tondo Doni, the Niobe Room; then down to the first floor for Titian's Venus of Urbino and Caravaggio's Medusa.
- Terrace and café over the Loggia dei Lanzi: The roof of the Loggia dei Lanzi is the terrace of the gallery's cafeteria, with views of Palazzo Vecchio's tower and the square.
- Vasari Corridor: The 1565 elevated passage from the west wing over Ponte Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, reopened in December 2024; it needs a ticket with the Corridor supplement and a booked time slot.
- Piazza della Signoria and the Loggia dei Lanzi: Florence's civic square at the north end of the piazzale, with the open-air sculptures of the Loggia dei Lanzi and the copy of Michelangelo's David.
- Palazzo Vecchio and Arnolfo tower: The town hall since 1299, next to the gallery's east wing; the 95 m tower can be climbed with a separate ticket.
- Ponte Vecchio (on the location map at the top): The medieval bridge with the goldsmiths' shops, about 200 m west of the gallery along the river; the Vasari Corridor runs above it.
